Pondering Hydrangea I
2012
collagraph on cotton ultrachrome photo print
850 EU (aprox. $1130)
24 x 30"
This print hung as one of 30 pieces at Castello di Galeazza in Crevalcore, Italy in the show titled “Creature Botaniche: Piante e Forme Umane Congiunte”. The show opened April 21st and was scheduled to run through October. The earthquakes in that region closed the show on May 20th. Seven pieces now hang at Corte Eremo, Mantova and will remain there in the villa's collection indefinitely.
These prints have an ink wash on the cotton that creates visual texture in the background before the photo is printed. There is a subtle plant emboss created by the collagraph relief. This print is mounted on grommeted canvas with bees wax and hangs on plum branches.
